Cosmelan
Cosmelan is the world leading pigment reduction system that has an intensive correction action on the skin whilst simultaneously regulating the overproduction of melanin from melanocytes, inhibiting and controlling the appearance of new pigment.
It has the ability to achieve short-term and long-term results because of this dual-action design.
A post-treatment cream Cosmelan 2 is used at home topically to maintain and to continue this change within the skin. It will help to prevent the appearance of new skin alterations and improve this skin's brightness and tone.
Suitable for:
Pigmentation
Melasma
Sun damage
Uneven skin tone and texture
Our highly qualified dermal clinicians will arrange a skin consultation and will tailor a treatment plan to suit your needs.
FAQS
How does it work?
Cosmelan is the world leading pigment reduction system that has an intensive correction action on the skin whilst simultaneously regulating the overproduction of melanin from melanocytes, inhibiting and controlling the appearance of new pigment.
It has the ability to achieve short term and long-term results because of this dual action design.
What does it involve?
Your dermal clinician will consult you and ensure the area treated is prepped and ready for treatment.
Cosmelan involves two phases of treatment. The first is the application of a mask in-clinic that is left on the skin for up to 8 hours. This is washed off after the recommended time at home.
A post-treatment cream Cosmelan 2 is used at home topically to maintain and continue this change within the skin.
What concerns can it treat?
Cosmelan is used to treat pigmentation and uneven skin tone in a range of skin types.
• Pigmentation
• Sun damage
• Melasma
• Uneven skin tone and texture
What areas are treated?
Most commonly Cosmelan is used to treat Melasma and Chloasma. But it may be used on many parts of the body where hyperpigmentation may have occurred, including scars or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Popular areas are the face, neck, décolletage, hands, shoulders, and back. How many treatments are needed?
Cosmelan is designed as a stand-alone treatment that is planned into an anti-pigmentation dermal care plan. Often other peels, enzyme therapy and LED are designed into this plan.
downtime requirements
Down time can vary from none or minimal downtime to 14 days depending the individual. Typically the skin will have some redness, tenderness and flaking.
